This past Saturday I had the awesome experience of watching my son and his friend launch their rocket. It was about 9 feet tall and went about 2900 feet in the air and reached about 9Gs. The LARC computer was not on board. I didn’t have the time I needed to integrate the circuits. The full telemetry package will be on the next flight. They went with a commercial flight computer for this launch to test all of the pieces.
To watch these two high schoolers experience the joy of launching the rocket and watching it soar into the sky and their elation as it came to the ground was nothing short of pride.
I’ll post videos and pictures as I can. They’re working on a documentary about the process. I’ll post more about the LARC computer later this week including setup and how it works.
I’m very proud of both of them.
