Mac Meltdown

I have no idea what’s going on with my iMac right now. It restarted earlier today and ever since it came back up it’s had zero network support. I have restored to previous versions from TimeMachine and nothing. Just a minute ago it restarted and went to the restore page and wanted me to install Lion – but without network support that’s impossible.

That means I’ve lost a whole day of editing. In 3.75 hours the time machine backup will finish installing then I’m going to try to slave my iMac to my mac mini and see if I can figure out what’s going on with the drive. I’m going to take my ext hdd and see if I can make it a bootable drive wiping everything out (which is all good b/c I have everything of import on external backups or google drive so this is one time i’m not panicked about my computer not working and losing data). It does suck extensively. I have 16GB RAM coming tomorrow to install to help speed up editing. I can’t afford to take it in and have someone fix it. So I guess I’m on this 7 year old windows machine but I can’t edit from the mac drive without paying for support. So what the heck am I going to do?

If anyone has any ideas I’m up for anything right now. Oh and I have a lightning adapter to VGA so I can hook up my other monitor to my iMac for the first time ever… so I really need to get this thing fixed so I can edit like a champ instead of a chump… I just said that because of alliteration – I kind of rock at editing. My last client gave me the best review ever “I liked it” – and they never give compliments.

All kidding aside I will be up trying to figure out how to fix this issue. And I’ve not recorded any footage about it. I’ll just write a blog when it’s fixed.

On the positive side I have some shelves installed in the new workspace so when I install the other shelves I’ll vlog that.
